GFSH 2.0 RULES
At 10 a.m. on “hunting day,” we’ll post up the first QR code on the Daily Dues website. Scan that QR code and you have the riddles and clues to find the locations of the physical QR codes along with the URL for your digital answer sheet.
Example: If the location was the Fulton Mall, the riddle may be: “I’m looking for some downtown redemption, but allowing cars to drive on me is just a crime. Who am I?”
Each location will have QR codes a-plenty. Scan the QR code at the location and it will have the trivia question or riddle.
Once you have your answer to the trivia or riddle challenge, write it down or remember it (so you can add it your online answer sheet).
Make sure to check the Daily Dues Facebook and Twitter for the online QR-codes, too. Every few hours, we’ll have a Twitter or Facebook status with a Keyword to search on the website. Type in the keyword into the search bar on dailydues.com and click on the first post to find the QR-code (then solve the challenge). The QR codes and keyword status updates will only be available for 15 minutes (so make sure you scan them as soon as you see them!)
Once you’ve solved as many challenges as possible, fill out your answer sheet (provided in your confirmation email) and we’ll score it.
All answer sheets must be submitted by 6 p.m. on October 8. Those turned in after 6 p.m. (but before midnight) will be deducted points.
The next day, we’ll have the results of the scavenger hunt and announce the winners.
ORIGINAL: It’s new-and-improved.
Last year, we organized a citywide scavenger hunt aimed at helping you explore more of the Ash Tree City. This year, the Great Fresno Scavenger Hunt will have you searching the web and parts of the city for clues.
You’ll have to find QR codes online and around downtown and Tower District in order to solve riddles and answer trivia questions about our city. Each QR code challenge is assigned a point value. The more questions you answer correctly, the more points you rack up. The top three point-getters will win our prizes, which include a day pass to The Hashtag and tickets to the 2011 Fresno Fair.
And if that doesn’t entice you, how about a cheap entry fee: $6.26 per person.
That fee allows you to compete for the prizes, and guarantees you a limited edition Great Fresno Scavenger Hunt button from Twee Boutique.
We’ll have more details at our new-and-improved Great Fresno Scavenger Hunt page tomorrow (including the date of the hunt).
(And our Hashtag this year? #searchfresno)
